24 Reasons Promos

December 9, 2009 · 20 comments

Fox has begun to air a series of promos called “24 Reasons [to celebrate the season]“. There will be 24 of these promos in total (they are being aired out of numerical order). I will update this post adding new ones as they air, and I’ll eventually combine these into one long video. For now you can watch all of them together via the embedded playlist video below:

Actor Scott Dawson will guest star in 24 season 8. He is shooting scenes this morning for either episode 17 or 18 which are filming now.

didn’t realize that Katee Sackoff is on 24′s next season. Man, if I get to work with Jack Bauer AND Starbuck… geek heaven!

Update: Scott tells us in the comments that it was a co-star role and not a guest star. He has also revealed on his Twitter page that he is playing a businessman and has already finished shooting his part.

Elisha Cuthbert Maxim

Jeers to The Forgotten for adding Elisha Cuthbert to the cast in a recurring role. Yeah, that’s just what Christian Slater’s struggling ABC crime drama needs—the most annoying actress in 24 history (maybe her TV dad—and Slater’s old Young Guns costar—Kiefer Sutherland recommended her?). Cuthbert, who’ll also return to 24 in January (why?), will debut on The Forgotten in February as Maxine Denver, a Chicago woman linked to a case taken by the show’s group of non-professional sleuths. With any luck, it’ll involve a mountain lion—and this time Cuthbert’s character won’t escape.

Are you excited about Elisha’s Forgotten role?

Ouch. I’ve gotta admit, I’m not the biggest Kim Bauer fan either after all the silly storylines the 24 writers put her through. But the author of this article, Bruce Fetts, seems to take a personal crusade against Elisha as an actress rather than her character. Harsh stuff.

It seems like something really huge happens in episode 18 because the entire cast and crew seem extremely excited about it and can’t wait to tease us poor fans! Here is a roundup of some of the tweets and blog posts from them:

Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe O’Brian)

Marci Michelle (Off-screen dialogue)

Rodney Charters (Director of Photography)

Annie Wersching (Renee Walker)

Cherry Jones (Allison Taylor) on her blog:

I’ll get something else posted soon with some info on “24″…do we have a great season for YOU!

Episode 18 has always been a major hour for 24, with either a HUGE moment or a shocking twist leading into the final storyline arc. Episode 18 of season 3 had Chapelle being executed. In season 5 it was President Logan being evil, and season 7 episode 18 ended with Tony Almeida smothering Larry Moss.

Those moments will be pretty hard to top, it will be very interesting to see what happens in this episode.

This promo aired tonight during So You Think You Can Dance. Pay close attention at the 12 second mark for an awesome scene of Jack Bauer jumping over a table while firing an Uzi!
