Casting process underway on 24 movie

Brian Grazer, Producer on 24 movie

While at a press conference for Clint Eastwood’s new biopic J Edgar, journalist Ed Symkus bumped into Brian Grazer (who produced that movie and is producing the 24 movie) on an elevator and asked him a bit about the status of the 24 movie.

“We’re working on it,” he said. “We’re making the movie. We have a script, and the casting is going along great. We’re about to start casting the main antagonist, the person who plays against Jack Bauer. We have a really great role to play against Kiefer.”

I asked him when he thinks we’re going to see the film.

“I hope to have it out in the first quarter of 2012,” he said.

I still belive we won’t see the 24 movie until summer 2012 (at the very least). But if the casting process is underway then it’s almost a sure lock.

This is great news. I just saw the trailer for the movie “Haywire” and I think Steven Soderbergh is a good choice to direct the movie in my opinion. As for the main antagonist, I love too see Michael Fassbender.

Please let Debi Manwiller handle casting… She knows exactly what to do!

That is great news! I am really happy I love 24 so so much!

Yes Yes Yes ! The story needs to continue since Jack is on the run….we need some closure !

It’ll be great if we go in depth into Jack’s history – there’s still so much we don’t know about him !

I just hope the movie focuses on the drama and doesn’t become a classic big budget gunfire, carchase, bloody, action hollywood piece of…

If it does… “let justice be done though the heavens fall”.

GOSTEI. Obrigada por COMPARTILHAR.

“first quarter of 2012” ??? but Kiefer said the production will begin in April 2012 !!! I guess Grazer means 2013 !

Me too I hope that the 24 movie won’t be a popcorn summer movie, but a drama as the series was.

A movie means a larger budget and more time to develop and make this awesome. Here’s hoping they keep the same classic 24 vibe and don’t ruin it with silly, generic cliches…
