24: The Complete Series Coming to Blu-Ray

Disclaimer: This was an April Fools Day joke and isn’t real. “24” is a series that deserves a Blu-Ray release, so let’s hope FOX gets around to this sooner or later! Check out our past April Fools Day jokes here.

FOX ANNOUNCES “24″ COMPLETE SERIES BLU-RAY RELEASE
Emmy Award-winning series to be released on Blu-Ray, bursting with hours of bonuses

Jack Bauer 24 Series

LOS ANGELES, CA, April 1, 2012 – Since its highly-anticipated premiere in November 2001, FOX’s 24 has revolutionized primetime television, attracting a massive fan following and huge critical acclaim. Now, celebrating television’s most original and creative series, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment proudly announces 24: The Complete Series on Blu-ray.

With the release of 24: The Complete Series, audiences can relive every episode of the landmark series in addition to hours of never-before-seen deleted scenes answering long-pondered mysteries like “What does Edgar Stiles eat for lunch?” and “Why do the characters never use the restroom?”. Each episode will be increased to a full 60 minutes in length, providing true 24 fans a more authentic “real time” viewing experience.

Blu-Ray exclusive features include a new branching path option to skip several poorly-received storylines including Teri Bauer’s amnesia, the vast majority of Kim Bauer and Dana Walsh scenes, and the entire sixth season. Fan favorite Aaron Pierce will be digitally inserted into the eighth and final season, preserving his streak as the only character besides Jack Bauer to appear in every season of the series.

Additional features include an on-screen “Damn it” counter, a lengthy blooper reel from all eight seasons, a fascinating array of all-new behind-the-scenes featurettes; a documentary about cougars; and a series of unique retrospectives with many of the cast and crew as they reflect anecdotes, experiences and emotions of working on the iconic series.

Designed to bridge the gap between the series and the upcoming feature film, a ten minute epilogue featuring former President David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) will be among the hours of extras. “Since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of Palmer’s last appearance — the 24 tribute to a major character’s demise — we always kept this as a possibility,” explains exec producer Howard Gordon. “We are thrilled to bring David Palmer back for the movie.”

Pricing is currently to be determined. 24: The Complete Series on Blu-Ray is currently scheduled to hit store shelves before April Fool’s Day of next year.

April Fools… you almost got me again. You didn’t get me as well as last year with the season 9 post… boy, did I go from joy to devastation so fast on that one…

When I read “Each episode will be increased to a full 60 minutes in length” I was like “Why don’t I have blu-ray!!!”

But when I read “Blu-Ray exclusive features include a new branching path option to skip several poorly-received storylines including Teri Bauer’s amnesia…” i remembered it was April Fools Day.
Well done, man! Looking forward to the next one. Never stop doing these. I love them and hate them every time.

LOL, fooled me until the third paragraph. Like last year with the 24 Season 9 one, I was hoping this would be real. DAMN IT.

you fooled me, good job… “a documentary about cougars” LOL

Nicely done! You had me until “Each episode will be increased to a full 60 minutes in length”. It’s nice of you not to make jokes about the 24 movie. It will rival with last year’s season 9 joke in the amount of devastation it caused me. :D
Happy April Fools everybody!

Parabens! Eu gostei. “Me engana que eu gosto”. O comentario com o Presidente Palmer, foi bem lembrado.

Jesus Christ !!!!!! I seriously thought the whole thing was real and true ?? Only til I read these comments did I realize how stupid I am !! LOL I am truly pissed off and heart-broken that this was a joke ! WHat a cruel thing to do to a gigantic fan of the series. Meanwhile, I still can’t believe Fox is too cheap to make a bluray set ?? Mindboggling for sure ?? Oh well, maybe someday they will smarten up !! DAMNIT !!!!!!!!!! LOL

Find it amusing you had to post a disclaimer for an April Fools’ joke, did the evil FOX lawyers threaten you with thumbscrews, and you deserve them for that swipe at Season 6 :-) …
