Kiefer Sutherland discusses Jack’s return, reunion with Audrey, Kate Morgan character

Kiefer Sutherland gave a candid interview to IGN TV where he discussed Jack’s distrust, being pissed off, teases about Chloe, a future reunion with Audrey Raines, and the new character Kate Morgan played by Yvonne Strahovski.

IGN: Jack Bauer’s obviously gone through a lot, to say the least. But when we pick up with him, I’d imagine being a fugitive for four years has taken its toll on the guy.
Sutherland: Absolutely. I was describing this to a friend of mine. He said, “So what’s it going to be like?” I said, “Well, he’s been isolated for four years, estranged from his country, estranged from his family — he’s pretty pissed off.” He said, “Well, you can’t do that. I mean, he’s always pissed off.” I said, “No, no. There’s another notch we can do,” and it’s not how he deals with someone who’s doing something wrong. It’s how he deals with someone who might be able to help him – he doesn’t even want to know. “I don’t trust nobody. I am my own machine.” Well, when that dynamic hits Chloe, that’s pretty serious, so that’s going to be a major shift. Will Chloe be able to pull him back, or is he going to set her up and use her? Has he gone over that point? Is it too far? We’re going to play with that.

IGN: [Laughs] Jack’s a superman. What can you say about the dynamic between Jack and Yvonne Strahovski’s character, Kate, who we’ve learned is pursuing you?
Sutherland: Well, she’s very much like me when I started. She’s a smart operative, she knows her s**t, she sees things, she has a sense when something not right. She’s the only one who picks up on what I’m doing in the very first episode and tries to warn everybody else. It would be a nice character to align with down the road. But she’s not a bad character. She’s a good character, in the context of our story.

IGN: Is it interesting for you to see what it will be like when Jack is reunited with Audrey [Kim Raver] in some capacity, given that they have their own turbulent history?
Sutherland: Well, they will be at some point, but it’s going to take awhile. But it’s certainly a major point in the story.

I think Chloe is damage because she has been in jail for 2 ou 3 years, not able to see her son, so she’s very angry against the Us government.

I’m glad he says his relationship with Audrey is a major point in the story. Not sure how that’s going to work if she’s married, but hopefully her husband turns out to be a traitor or something. I bet she doesn’t know about the horrible things her father said to Jack at the end of season 6, so that should be interesting.
