LOS ANGELES, CA (July 24, 2014) – One of television’s most critically-acclaimed dramas returns for one more mission as “24: Live Another Day” arrives on Blu-ray and DVD September 30 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Starring Emmy® winner Kiefer Sutherland* as legendary hero Jack Bauer, the action-packed series follows our hero in real time over 12 episodes as a new terrorist threat unfolds overseas.

The year’s most anticipated television event, “24: Live Another Day,” delivers more explosive action than viewers could have hoped for! Exiled in London for four years, former Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer (Sutherland) must spring into action to try to save U.S. President James Heller (William Devane). In retribution for a drone strike he ordered, Heller sits in the crosshairs of the widow of an al-Qaeda leader. Along the way, Jack faces his ex-love, Heller’s daughter Audrey (Kim Raver), who’s married to chief of staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan). Teaming with CTU operative-turned-hacktivist Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Jack risks everything to try to protect the U.S., prevent a global terrorist attack and outrun the CIA head (Benjamin Bratt) – as the pulse-quickening tension unfolds in real time!

Deemed one of AFI’s “Top Television Series of All Time” and winner 20 Emmy Awards, “24: Live Another Day” takes Jack to a foreign land for his most dangerous mission yet. The Blu-ray comes loaded with bonus material including “24: Solitary,” an intense story extension of Season Nine. Additionally, both the Blu-ray and DVD include the featurette “When Worlds Collide” illustrating how this thrilling season and the pulse-pounding storytelling stems from today’s terrorism and government headlines, “Destination London” focusing on shooting overseas, “Green Production” about the environmentally responsible making of the show and deleted and extended scenes.

Fans who want to experience every second of Jack Bauer’s heroism can also pickup, 24: The Complete Series on September 30, which features all nine seasons, including “24: Live Another Day” and the TV movie 24: Redemption.

“Destination London” should be fascinating.

“So we’re here in London, but heaven forbid the viewer should see any of it so we use extreme closeups and shake the camera around like spastics”

Wait, stop the presses everyone!

XAM – the ever-so wise and critically acclaimed TV show guru, has a (negative) opinion/perspective/interpretation/view of the show. No one else be sure to comment as we all must bask in the glory that is XAM’s unparalleled expertise on special effects, graphics, writing, time progression, character development, story arc, casting, et cetera. And now he is even branching out into the realm of critiquing DVD special features. What a legend!

I for one am particularly a fan of his backhanded criticism of the show, comments masquerading as some sort of positive remark but are really nothing more than cleverly disguised sarcastic jokes. Read any (and yes, I mean literally, ANY other article on here) to find some pristine examples.

So with that introduction, again, let us all eagerly await XAM’s fascinating comments. The floor, XAM, is all yours!

Gee just ignore the guy if you disagree so much.

I have to agree with XAM on this one though, why bother shooting in London when it could be done elsewhere no problem?

Jesus, Tony24, what a disturbingly excessive reply…

Technical expertise? There’s no requirement for that to form an opinion of a product you consume. Also, you’r username is “tony24”, come on, that’s got fanboy written all over it.

I mean, it’s called the “comments” section. You can’t expect everyone to just agree with you.

No joke about the Green Production feature? Lol

This season looks terrible!

24 Production Team: We made it that way because of whales and polar bears.

Oh… ok great, carry on then!

I think it’s a funny enough joke in itself to be honest.

You spend wayyyyy too much time here for someone who seems to hate the show so much. Is your life really that empty and sad? I pity you.

No need for your pity Shaw, because life is actually full and happy here. I’m deeply moved by your concern though, it really means alot to me!

XAM
Just wondering, is there anything you like about 24?

Lots!

If you’re that curious about what I liked, then go back and look over my previous posts ‘cos I’m done defending my position.

You people really can be pretty thick. This is the same sort of thing as judging an entire race of people on the actions of a small minority of them. XAM has posted numerous things he likes about the show – *including* Live Another Day – but you’ve all very conveniently ignored or dismissed those.

Alas, human beings…

Thank you sir!

I’ve only been on a couple of posts though, and XAM hasn’t said a positive comment. I don’t have a problem with it though, I love this guy ! He makes me laugh how he criticises one thing and everyone is on him immediately.

24: Solitary = Tony Almeida???

24spoilers…who exactly are you?

Well when I met him in person he looked A LOT like Jon Cassar, but he swore he wasn’t.

Are you sure he wasn’t and did you meet 24 spoilers

Lol… there’s something funny about someone named “1234” asking someone who they are.

I mean is it just a random person putting together all the information on 24 or someone vaguely involved in the production

Yeah I met 24 Spoilers in London. I was trying to find where they were filming, and he said he was too. So we met up, really thought he was a Jon Cassar. Could pass as his twin! But he said he wasn’t, so I believe him.

Was it the actor who played Steve Gomez in Breaking Bad?

No… The only thing I remember is that he was wearing some hockey jersey. Some team from Canada… I forget the name. Maple Leafs or something. So I guess 24 Spoilers is Canadian.

Ah that’s pretty cool, strange though how he looked so similar if he wasn’t Cassar. But then he wouldn’t be trying to find out where they were filming so who knows

Well he wasn’t really “trying” to find it. He was already there so he must have known where it was.

Did you get a photo

Did you get a photo with him

Did you see them filming

No I didn’t get a photo. I wanted one at first because I thought he was Jon Cassar but then he said he wasn’t so I didn’t really want a picture anymore.

We just talked about 24 for a while. He’s clearly a big fan. He asked me who my favorite director on the show was and I said Stephen Hopkins, he just left after that. Didn’t really respond.

Fucking lol!

At first I thought you said Stephen Hawking.

Oh whoops sorry I misspoke. How did you hear me anyway?

Fine I wonder is he reading these comments at the moment.

I don’t know. Think he said he was going to San Diego for something today. Not sure what though

What was his name?

His name was 24 Spoilers but dude guess what you won’t believe it he got to go to Comic Con today! Saw a picture of him in the other post on this site go check it out and he’s on the stage with Kiefer too don’t know how he got to do that but good for him what a lucky fan

Pretty cool though his real name is the same as his website always cool when that happens

Man I wish I was christened 24spoilers

He might have changed his name though after he made the website because he looked older than the Internet and had a beard so I don’t know hard to tell really.

Dude why bother coming here if your just going to troll? Who are you to question the owner of the site who he is?

Is this directed to me or…?

Any information how long this feature will be? Will it be available online too?
So many questions still unanswered, I’m waiting for it!

If you compare the run time of the DVD (571 minutes) and Blu-Ray (574 minutes) that would mean “24: Solitary” runs approximately three minutes long.

That’s about the same length as the “Chloe’s arrest” epilogue.

Will you include it on this website?

Yep, that’s the plan. At the bare minimum we’ll have high-def screencaps with a detailed description of the scene.

Do that then. “Bare minimum” is the motto when it comes to 24 DVDs lately, let’s keep with the theme.

You should take pictures of it with your phone and post them.

Haha.

And then I’d have to go one step further and make the picture a broken link like the non-working QR code on the “new” 24 DVD’s that still leads to a 404 page after months.

Sigh. Such an awesome series that deserves better DVD releases.

lol!! Excellent idea.

I like the new cover a lot more! The spacing is better and I’m glad they used the “Live Another Day” logo and didn’t included in the background with periods between each word.

24 used to have the best DVD releases in the business (except that there were never bloopers), so why do they keep cutting features now?

Season 8 – No audio commentaries
LAD – No audio commentaries, no scene makers for every episode
And as always no bloopers.

Why did they get rid of commentaries? Or was this not the whole list of features?
Listening to the cast & crew while actually watching the episodes was a lot of fun to me. I genuinely miss those.

And why did they not use this opportunity to announce a Complete Series Blu-ray? Do they not want my money a 2nd time? I already own all the DVDs but would gladly throw my money at the blu-ray set.

Except for the “24 Solitary” thing, this is very disappointing.
And even the Solitary thing is most likely just 3-5 minutes long.

Just somehow expected more.

Good God, no announcement of a Complete Series Blu-Ray.

The whole operation this year – from the season itself, to the DVD announcement, to this poor excuse of a ‘panel; ‘ – has been botched.

But why bother with a new complete BluRay when they’ll just have to make another one inside of two years tops after Day 10?

Because nothing screamed final season for reals! like a brand revival, money made, good ratings, positive reviews, tons of social media interest, a cliffhanger end to the finale, and a DVD bonus feature focused on the show’s most popular secret weapon whose reappearance is only going to help continue interest in another season.

I would have figured that the FOX preview (30-minute) show that aired a week before the premiere would have been captured on the DVD – I still have it on my DVR and have been waiting to see if I need to record it before erasing or if the formal DVD release would have it included…..?

I think that “24: Solitary” is a featurette focused on the fate of Tony Almeida. I can’t imagine this featurette being about anyone or anything else. I will definitely be buying the Blu_Ray version of “24: Live Another Day” so that I could have that exclusive to Blu-Ray extra in my 24 collection.

Judging by the title I guess we can assume that Tony’s in solitary confinement? Because he’s been a bad bad boy in jail? Because he’s on suicide watch? Because it’s safer for him because he screwed with some powerful people? I’d probably go with the latter. It really sucks to be Tony these days.

No audio commentaries from the cast ? And as always no bloopers ? 24 deserves better than a botched release and panel with 2 people !!
I won’t buy this DVD, the featurette will be on You Tube soon

24 Solitary now has an IMDb page. I know it can be edited by anyone, but thought it’s worth mentioning regardless.

It lists the length as 7 minutes, as opposed to only 3 minutes and says Michelle Bonilla is playing “Vanessa Diaz” and Barry Livingston is playing “Prison Admin.” Director is Jordan Goldman and writer Adam DaSilva (who wrote an episode of Live Another Day).

Again: This my not be true at all, just wanted to mention it.

I want Tony Almeida back

I want Audrey back!!!

Sam and Richer, I suspect for both of you your chances of having either of these “wants” happening are slim and none, and slim just left the room! But I am not about to spoil your fun or rain on your parade. So do go forth and have some fun.

By the way mh thanks and appreciation to web master “24 Spoilers” for keeping this up and running. It nice to peruse through in between notifications on something new just to see any new added comments and replies to the postings.

I’ve just gotten the new book out on my Kindle and hope to start reading it this weekend. I did see a couple of postings about it on Amazon. Have any of the regular posters here read it yet? If so what did you think of it?

For Agent Rez: So how goes the alternate end writing?

I still haven’t gotten over my frustration and anger over not just the death of Audry but how it was written. Secret Servicd really let her go in there without a bullit proof vest on, huh?? Right! Just how damn dumb do the writers think we are??? And Kate who was so quick to spot Jack’s motives for allowing himself to be caught in the opening doesn’t keep Audrey down and if not hidden from a sniper at least shadowed to not let her be such an open target until she got help on the scene????

And these damn dumb bunny writers couldn’t at least have Heller clear the lousey words between he and Jack back in season 6; so now there is one more death Jack gets to deal with with and she/Audrey is also stomach shot!!!! Come on guys this wasn’t some lousey “B” movie you were working on, we–the loyal fans of the show– deserved a lot better that we got on your final season. Keep that in mind when you get around to writing Season 10!!
