Trailer for Kiefer Sutherland’s new series Designated Survivor

Here’s the official trailer for Kiefer Sutherland’s upcoming drama series Designated Survivor, premiering this Fall on ABC (Wednesdays at 10pm).

A lower level United States Cabinet member (Kiefer Sutherland) is suddenly appointed president after a catastrophic attack kills everyone above him in the line of succession.

The show also stars Natascha McElhon, Maggie Q, Kal Penn, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, LaMonica Garrett and Tanner Buchanan.

Trailer for Touch, Kiefer Sutherland’s new TV series

Here is the first trailer for Touch starring Kiefer Sutherland. The series was written by Tim Kring (Heroes) and also co-stars Danny Glover. I totally agree with 24Fan1980. The trailer is great, but I also think at this moment that the designated survivor effect would be gone just after one season. It certainly will depends how fast time goes on this new series, but after a couple of time, he would have the situation “controlled” and he’ll be just the president.
Do you guys could see a potential for a second season ?

Look at how a sleeper like ‘House of Cards’ has survived – there are so many presidential storylines that not only have to involve terrorist attacks but political campaigns, power struggles, scandals, assassination attempts, etc.

I could see the show doing well – the biggest question is if the 10PM time slot in the middle of the week will help or hurt it. It seems the adult audience they’re seeking won’t be dissimilar from the “Law & Order” or CSI fanbase so I suspect that this show might get bumped to an earlier 9PM slot on different day.

I agree with that, but House of Cards isn’t about the designated survivor – it’s broadly focused on politics and even the main character wasn’t a president when the series begun. However, Kiefer’s new show is called Designated Survivor…. So, if he run for the presidency in the next elections and win, he will stop being the designated survivor. Let’s see how the series will play out.

Not sure if I want it to be good or bad – good because I rather watch good contents than bad ones. But, if it’s succeed maybe it ruins any chance we might have to have Jack back on a classic 24 season.

One thing is for sure IMO: any cast with Kiefer and the gorgeous Natascha McElhone trumps a cast of Mirando Otto, Jimmy Smits and some unknowns.

Kiefer will also be on 24 Legacy as well at some point along with Tony and Chloe! Also the 24 Legacy cast is fantastic! Miranda Otto, Jimmy Smits, Teddy Sears, Corey Hawkins are all well known actors! 24 Legacy will be a hot show in 2017

Sorry but I’ll believe it when I see it – or hear outright promises from both Kiefer and the 24 producers of such. Right now, all of the hints and suggestions sound like nothing more than teasers to get the die-hard ’24’ fans to tune in and watch the reboot.

TJ its not a reboot. Its a spinoff that takes place in the same universe as the original. Its expanding the 24 universe and establishing a new world of characters. Once the new world is established, old favourites will be back confirmed by Manny Coto, Also there are a lot of news fan who will watch 24 Legacy, there are also old and current die hard fans who are excited for Legacy! With the help of the Superbowl and all the promotion Legacy will get over the next 9 months, Legacy will be a big success!

Agreed – the ABC trailer just felt fresher and more intriguing. The Fox trailer had a lot of pieces from the ’24’ formula added in with typical action scenes (car explosions, gunfights, hand-to-hand combat).

I thought the Legacy trailer was awesome! 24 Legacy will do well, especially since Kiefer is open to coming back as Jack Bauer. Tony Almeida could always return too! And its not fair to judge 24 Legacy without seeing the episodes. 24 Legacy will do better than Designated Survivor since 24 is a well established show with awesome writers! A lot of people actually loved the trailer for 24 Legacy and the trailer was met with Positive reactions from critics and advertisers at the upfronts! As well the Pilot I heard was fantastic from the Pilot testing

Agreed. I really hope that the “Touch” effect doesn’t sabotage this series for Kiefer. That one was hard to endure and he tried morphing some Bauer traits into the show near the end. If ABC keeps it where Kiefer’s President doesn’t become an action hero or try to fight terrorists a la Harrison Ford’s president in ‘Air Force One’, it would be a nice twist.

Plus, if Kiefer allows his president character to be immersed into action stunts, it will be very frustrating to see and remember Kiefer’s frequent complaints of the physical demands of ’24’ on his body.

This series is going to be SO GOOD! It’s going to be satisfying to see Kiefer playing a politician who doesn’t really know what the heck is going on! Although the plot of the show seems like it’s only going to be a one season kind of thing, I would happily be proven wrong! Love Kiefer!!

You’ll really LOVE Natascha McElhone – one of the most beautiful women on screen anywhere! Her emotional personality will play well against the rough but humble side that Kiefer brings to a lot of his roles.

Kind of ironic too that former ’24’ alum Kal Penn is apparently a part of ‘DS’ cast as well. Guess he’s good friends with Kiefer (or they share the same agent!). Wouldn’t surprise me to see more alumni from the ’24’ series pop up (Ethan Kanin, where are you?)

According to his official Facebook page, Kiefer is done signing autographs due to dealers following him and selling the stuff online and will only be signing at conventions.

Seems like a good idea for a movie, or a miniseries.
