24 showrunner Howard Gordon was interviewed on Good Day LA and of course was asked about the movie.

“The movie is just a little premature to announce it, but I think we’re all marching in that direction. There’s a script. And it’ll have to happen after Kiefer wraps on Touch. So we have a window and I hope you hear something soon.”

Here’s the promo that aired after the Touch preview event which showcases what is coming up when it returns in March. Looks like there is a mini 24 reunion as Jude Cicollela a.k.a Mike Novick guest-stars.

Kiefer Sutherland was interviewed on Live with Jimmy Kimmel about his new series Touch, and of course the 24 movie. He once again claims they are aiming for an April start date, this time getting a little more specific and saying mid-April.

One interesting new reveal, is that despite the extra freedom of a movie versus a TV show when it comes to cursing, the current draft of the script has Jack Bauer swearing only a single time. This could potentially mean that 20th Century FOX is aiming for wider PG-13 release (like with Live Free or Die Hard) rather than making it R.

Congratulations to former 24 writers Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa, Chip Johannessen (and other 24 crew members including Sean Callery, Brad Turner, and Michael Klick) for their huge win at tonights Golden Globes. Their new Showtime series Homeland scored a major and much deserved win for best television drama series (Claire Danes also won for best actress in a drama).

The former 24 crew sent out their congratulations via Twitter with director Jon Cassar tweeting “Congrats to former 24 producer Howard Gordon on the Globe for best drama Homeland. It’s one if the best shows on TV right now. Must see.”

James P Morrison (Bill Buchanan) tweeted “Congratulations to my friend Howard Gordon and all involved in bringing us Homeland.” and first assistant director Nicole Burke called it the “best show on TV.”

Anil Kapoor was on G4TV’s Attack of the Show where he talked about his role in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and the upcoming Indian adaptation of 24. Kapoor reveals that former 24 showrunner Howard Gordon was instrumental in helping him secure the television rights to the franchise.

FOX’s marketing department certainly seems to be trying to evoke similarities to 24 with this new promo. An imminent event going down on that day, a suicide bomber, fight scene, digital countdown clock…

It was recently announced that a “special preview” of the pilot episode will air January 25th after American Idol before the series premiere in March.

Here is the first trailer for Touch starring Kiefer Sutherland. The series was written by Tim Kring (Heroes) and also co-stars Danny Glover. No official date has been announced yet, but the show is expected to debut in March and air on Mondays at 9PM – 24‘s old time slot.

This is hardly the first time that Jack Bauer and 24 have been mentioned on a popular television show, but definitely one of the coolest. USA Network’s In Plain Sight dropped a few 24 shoutouts in their latest episode including Jack Bauer, Chloe O’Brian, CTU, and even a “damn it”! Check out the clip below:

One year ago today, the 24 series finale aired on FOX. Rather than writing a long post praising the show, I assume everyone here is already aware of the awesomeness that is 24. So instead, I’ll post some videos for you to watch including this great documentary that you most likely haven’t seen before:

Here’s a fantastic documentary feature that didn’t make the cut on the 24 DVD’s for some reason. It’s titled “24: A Timeless Legacy” and features a nice mix of cast members both old and new including Kiefer Sutherland, John Boyd, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Sarah Wynter, Penny Johnson Jerald, Sprague Grayden, Carlos Bernard, Jean Smart, Jon Voight, Katee Sackhoff, Annie Wersching, Leslie Hope, Dennis Haysbert, Sarah Clarke, and Reiko Aylesworth.

Extra’s AJ Calloway has interviewed Kiefer Sutherland in New York City about the upcoming 24 movie. While it’s mostly stuff he’s been saying before, he teases a bit more at the end.

Let’s just talk 24 for a minute. What’s the status of the film and what can the fans expect?
Brian Grazer and Ron Howard who run Imagine [Entertainment] produced the television show in coordination with FOX and there’s a real strong push to start in January and hopefully have the film out by — it is slated right now for the summer of 2012. As in everything, nothing is etched in stone, but everything is moving towards that. And so I’m very excited. We’ve worked very hard to try and get the script in, you know, that was going to encompass all of the sentiments of 24 the series but really take us in another direction. And I think that’s been a real task. And so it’s taken us a little while, but I am very optimistic and cautiously optimistic. We’re going to start hopefully in January.

What would you like to see Jack do in the movie?
I wanna see Jack do a lot of things that were representative of the show, but I think one of the things I certainly felt as an actor playing him, I wanted him to be able to take his life back. And I think that’s going to be a large aspect of the film.

Here’s a funny video showing what the Osama Bin Laden raid might have looked like if Jack Bauer was involved. Now we know what he’s been up to since 24 ended last year. And of course props to our awesome Navy SEALS who were the real Jack Bauer in this case.
