AICN has the scoop on a high profile hiring for 24, the fantastic writer David Fury from Lost, who will join the shows writing team on the fifth season.
David Fury, the guy who’s been churning out all the best “Lost” scripts, just closed a lucrative deal to join Tim Minear on “The Inside” for six episodes.
He’s also signed on as the new co-executive producer on “24,” helping to ruin Jack Bauer’s fifth day.
Here’s a special feature 24 Exposed found on the 24 Season 2 DVD’s. It is by far the lengthiest special feature coming in at two parts both running approximately 45 minutes long.
The feature follows the last days of production on 24 Season 2 and features many cast and crew members including director Jon Cassar and Kiefer Sutherland himself. We get an inside look at Kiefer training for Jack Bauer’s hand-to-hand combat fight scene in the coliseum and how they managed to film the big cliffhanger of Palmer collapsing in front of 150 extras.
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) – Howard Gordon, one of the executive producers on FOX’s critically acclaimed “24,” has signed a new two-year deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Gordon’s current contract with 20th had a year remaining on it, so the reportedly seven figure extension will keep him at his studio home for another three years.
Gordon came to 20th Century Fox during the first season of “The X-Files” and has been a part of several of the studio’s prominent products including “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel.” Gordon’s original efforts, like the short-lived ABC series “Strange World” have been a bit less successful.
“20th has become a home for me,” Gordon tells The Hollywood Reporter. “The studio has been a tremendously supportive place to be, and I’m grateful for their show of support for me.”
Gordon joined the “24″ team soon after the pilot was shot and after a season as co-executive producer, he was bumped up to full executive producer this season. He will continue to work with the series’ creators and executive producers Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow as the Kiefer Sutherland drama moves into its third season this fall.
“’24′has been the greatest creative experience for me on a show,” says Gordon. “A show like this comes along so rarely where you really feel it’s something that is genuinely new and interesting, that when you find that, I’ve been around long enough to know you hold on with both hands.”
In addition to his work on “24,” Gordon’s new pacts allows him to develop new projects at the studio.
