Congratulations to former 24 writers Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa, Chip Johannessen (and other 24 crew members including Sean Callery, Brad Turner, and Michael Klick) for their huge win at tonights Golden Globes. Their new Showtime series Homeland scored a major and much deserved win for best television drama series (Claire Danes also won for best actress in a drama).
Watch the acceptance speech below:
The former 24 crew sent out their congratulations via Twitter with director Jon Cassar tweeting “Congrats to former 24 producer Howard Gordon on the Globe for best drama Homeland. It’s one if the best shows on TV right now. Must see.”
James P Morrison (Bill Buchanan) tweeted “Congratulations to my friend Howard Gordon and all involved in bringing us Homeland.” and first assistant director Nicole Burke called it the “best show on TV.”
Since several people have asked me, here are all six of the deleted scenes found on the 24 Season 8 DVD.
There aren’t any audio commentaries for the deleted scenes this time around, so there’s no way to know why these scenes were cut. Most of them were probably removed for time reasons. [click to continue…]
24 Season 8 episode 22 with Jack Bauer (or Darth Bauer/Iron Jack as fans called him) donning black body armor and kidnapping Charles Logan made the list of TV.com’s year end top 100 moments of 2010 list. It came in at a very nice 20th place.
20. Jack Bauer’s assault on Logan’s motorcade
24‘s final season provided one of the most OMG moments of the series when one-man wrecking crew Jack Bauer, outfitted in the sweetest black assault leotard ever, went ballistic on Charles Logan’s vehicle procession.
FOX just sent me this cute holiday video to post which features many 24 cast members wishing fans a happy holiday. Among the stars in this video are Kiefer Sutherland, Anil Kapoor, Leslie Hope, Dennis Haysbert, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Sarah Clarke, Xander Berkeley, James Morrison, Howard Gordon, Jon Voight, Carlos Bernard, Adondi Maropis, and Penny Johnson Jerald. Check it out:
Here’s the final remaining segment from the “Eight Days” special feature found on the 24 Complete Series box set, this one called Memories and Moments.
The producers of 24 share their favorite scenes of the series and tell stories about working on the show – collaborating with the military, the shows popularity in the White House, and more. This feature runs nine minutes and is a great watch.
Check out my 24 Complete Series review for my thoughts on the box set and videos of the other bonus features (Jack Bauer: Evolution of a Hero, Presidents, Friends and Villains, Goodbye, Chloe’s Arrest, and more). You can buy the 24 Season 8 on DVD on Amazon – it’s also available on on Blu-Ray.
Here’s the special feature “Presidents, Friends and Villains” found on the 24 Complete Series bonus disc, the second segment of the “Eight Days” feature. This feature runs just under 5 minutes and shows a lot of the big 24 characters and their defining moments.
As requested, here’s the special feature “Goodbye” found on the 24 Complete Series box set bonus disc. This eight-minute video shows you the final scene filmed on 24 between Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub along with some emotional cast and crew interviews.
Here’s the full “Chloe’s Arrest” epilogue found on the 24 Season 8 Blu-Ray and the Complete Series bonus disc (not the standalone DVD release unfortunately). It was written by Howard Gordon, directed by Michael Klick, and features Mary Lynn Rajskub and Carlo Rota as Chloe and Morris O’Brian. Runs about three minutes long.
Here are several videos and interviews from some 24 Marathon Challenge contestants, many of them travelling from far away to participate in the challenge.
Jon Cassar chats with fans who flew out from Puerto Rico:
Here’s a video from FOX of the 24 Marathon challenge. Lots of 24 cast members showed up to support the fans including Carlos Bernard, Gregory Itzin, Necar Zadegan, Jon Cassar, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Michael Rodrick.
Probably the best acceptance speech I’ve ever seen. Kiefer Sutherland pokes fun at the weird-looking trophy saying it will come in handy at the bar later and then tells all the 24 fans that “You guys fuckin’ rock” while flipping the bird. We love you too, Kiefer!
