wonder what is Mark role in this threat

I’m thinking that he probably volunteers or goes along with the plan with some (but not total) reluctance. His marriage is destroyed, and at this point his career likely is as well (as Episode 10’s press release states that Audrey confronts him, likely about the extradition order). He might as well do something right. I don’t think he’s involved from a villainous side – he just got himself caught up in this mess with his selfishly good intentions.

I think that’s probably accurate. But there is an alternate possibility:

There have been rumors about
Cheng returning in the last few episodes.
We already know that the Chinese are going to play some role in the plot for the last three episodes. And Mark’s explanation of how he “loved Audrey and brought her back” from a lifeless, non-responsive state makes no sense, particularly in light of the fact that he told Jack that Audrey was in bad shape because of Jack when he met her. So I think it’s possible that he has some connection to the Chinese, and maybe even had something to do with her being abducted by them between seasons 5 and 6. This is unlikely, but it would be a cool way to tie a lot of threads together.

More likely, Mark will be like Olivia Taylor in season 7: not part of the conspiracy, but doing shady things to clean up the mess he made.

I reckon Mark saddled Jack with all the blame for Audrey’s state just because it’s easier for him to make one man, Audrey’s ex-lover, the focus of his anger. Easier for Mark to target Jack rather than the whole covert organisation of Cheng and his torture happy friends who are the ones who are directly to blame for what happened to Audrey. So here’s a bold prediction that just popped into my head: Mark’s gonna kill Cheng. He’s gonna give Jack a bit of a break when he gets an unexpected shot at taking out the one who is really responsible for screwing Audrey up. And suddenly we’ll all start liking Mark.

The second-to-last episode of 24 and with the “series finale” airing on July 14th, I hope that Jack Bauer will get a “happy ending” when he heads back to L.A. and reunites with his daughter Kim. BTW, hope 24 ends on a high note if Fox isn’t going to do more but one limited series is good enough.

I presume they will be season 10 if the fans wants it and the cast wants it

It’s a decision by Fox not yours DAMMIT!!

I’m at the point where I’m so caught up with Jack’s character I just want him to have a happy ending, and if he has a happy ending here I don’t want any new seasons

PLEASE have the time jump be him flying home to America and seeing his family again. End it with a chess game with Kim just like it began.

not sure if its just yourself that has posted that ‘idea’ for how to end the series multiple times or if others have suggested it too, please tell me your not serious though its just ludicrous… luckily i know the 24 writing staff would not dream of doing something so cheesy and … well frankly pathetic. no disrespect to yourself, if thats what you would like to see then fair enough i just think it would make a mockery of a fantastic season, and a great show.

For what it’s worth, the producers had filmed an alternate ending to season 1 where Jack was reunited with Teri and Kim. They had planned to use that ending if the show didn’t get renewed. So if they are going for closure here they might go with this kind of ending. It would be kind of like coming full circle, with Jack reuniting with Kim and her daughter Teri. And please, can Audrey be with him too? Cheesy I know but I don’t care.

An ending in which Jack dies or lives happily ever after is not, I would argue, in any way appropriate for ’24’.

this is the episode that there is some kind of twist according to past reports

Mark is taking Jack to the russians, because we know the russians are the ones behind Cross, so Jack is getting himself in trouble (again) to get a chance to avoid war and whatnot

How do we know the Russians are behind Cross? Has there even been any hint of that? It seems more likely that the Chinese are involved. The Russian thing is sort of a side plot left over from season 8, although it involves main characters.

Well, actually, I think that is quite plausible…think about Snowden’s asylum in Russia. Life imitating art or the other way around?

I am really curious about what Audrey is doing to “prevent a full-scale war”. This could be related to cleaning up Mark’s mess with the Russians to avoid Jack being handed over, or it could have something to do with her past encounters with the Chinese, or none of the above. Sounds like a great episode.

I am a little worried that there is no mention of Chloe. I am afraid she might die next week.

Chloe Is not dying… yet, I believe. She did had a script for the finale (albeit missing a few pages). So if she dies is going to be in the last episode.

It’s obvious what is going on here. In the next episode, episode 10, Chloe’s little hacker lover is going to launch nuclear missiles into another country because he for some reason wants to start a war. And this time, I get the feeling that they may just hit.

If you watch the trailer for Episode 10 carefully , the false order to the American sub are to attack a Chinese aircraft carrier. I think Cheng might purposely want this as a pretext for a massive Chinese attack on US forces in the area where the drone base is located

Your Cheng idea makes a lot of sense.

A false flag…interesting.

If that’s what happens, that would be awesome!

Oh, no. Mark is so dead. It’s Paul all over again.

If Mark dies I don’t think it will be because Jack kills him. That would be insanely redundant. I don’t think Mark will die at all.

It would be convenient if Mark did die. Audrey is still soo in love with Jack.

I’m reasonably confident that Mark will survive, because living each day with the knowledge that Audrey left him to go back to Jack will be a punishment worse than death. :-p

The Jack/Kate/Mark mission sounds interesting and potentially very dangerous.

More Mark Boudreau awesomeness :) Yay!

But Chloe O’Brian wants revenge against Adrian Cross.

9x12, chloe still dies.

I don’t think Mark is going to just be a bigger man and accept that Audrey is not his, since his marriage wasn’t that great anyway.

I don’t think it will end with Jack and Audrey actualy being together, but it should end with them agreeing to keep seeing each other.

Mark started the day hating Jack for what had happened to Audrey. Now he hates Jack because he came out of the Heller situation smelling like a rose, while Mark came out of it smelling of poop. Mark was part of the club for the bad part of that plan and totally in the dark when the other side switched to hero mode. Can’t really blame him for being upset about that, I suppose. He has gotta be SO done with Jack by now and must want him gone more than ever.

Have you seen the Sprint clip for next week?

If not, it shows that
Audrey eventually seems to forgive Mark for his role in the Heller incident. She says that she understands that Heller put him in an impossible situation. Then Mark snaps that that’s not what the distance between them is really about; that she has been distant since Jack showed up because she hasn’t resolved her feelings for him. And Audrey basically doesn’t deny it. :)

Love that the site now has the ability to use spoiler tags in comments!

1)Mark will be killed by Russian
2) Jack will be captured by the Russian
3) Cross will start a war between America, Russian and Chinese
4) Chloe will inform Jack about the cross plot so in the cause of raid either chloe is shot dead or captured by the American and sent to prision.

the only way for 24 to end is if jack dies

When Chloe jumps off that train.. is it only me or is there someone else inside of it? Who could that be? At around 22 seconds….

The scenes for the promo are really all over the place, more so then usual, for example they have have Cheng’s men looking around in the woods and then show Chloe jumping from the train. Cheng’s men are probably looking for Chloe after she jumps the train. Also the Mark scenes are all over the place, first he is the Russian consulate and then the American one and back and forth, etc. Next week is all over the place, which makes sense since there are only two episodes left.

Thank you!

That “Kill him,” has gotta be for Cheng, (“Bring me that fucker’s head on a platter, Jack, plz and thank you.”), but it sounds like Jack hasn’t spoken to Audrey and Co about that yet, so where did they get the info? Did the Chinese President end up believing Heller and offer up their own intelligence info about Cheng being on UK soil?

Mary Lynn did an interview today and they showed a clip and how Chloe escapes the Chinese. It is a cool Chloe action scene.

YAY Action!Chloe!! :-)

FINALLY Chloe kicks some arse

I can believe that chloe wants seeking revenge on Cheng, that is not going to bring him back come on chloe. Chloe will want Jack to kill Cheng to avenge Adrian, and to stop him from causing further damage.

I don’t think Jack going after mustache man proves that Cheng is working for the Russians. It would be horribly convenient that the same Russian official who was pressing Mark for half the day is also involved in some nefarious plot. I think Jack just gets clearance from Heller to go after the Russians sent they basically sent a kill squad after him.

And agree – they probably gave away the cliffhanger ending to the episode. If Audrey is taken hostage by Cheng, you have very high stakes in the final hour.

Also, Chloe is not going to die in this episode. Mary-Lynn had the finale script.
