A bunch of former 24 castmates and colleagues came out to support Howard Gordon yesterday at the book signing for his debut novel Gideon’s War (in stores now, read our review).
Actors Dennis Haysbert (David Palmer), Carlos Bernard (Tony Almeida), Gregory Itzin (Charles Logan), Peter Weller (Christopher Henderson), Chris Diamantopoulos (Rob Weiss) and former 24 writer Evan Katz showed up to lend their support. Check out the pictures below: [click to continue…]
Howard Gordon is interviewed by Jamie Samuelsen of Mornings on 94.7 WCSX about his novel Gideon’s War. He also speaks about 24 and says the network petitioned them to change the heavily serialized real-time format during the first year of the show.
He talks about the low point being 24 Season 6 and says his favorite character aside from Jack Bauer was Charles Logan (the other being Dennis Haysbert’s David Palmer). [click to continue…]
Here’s a lengthy (24 minute) live radio interview I recorded where TV Confidential interviews Howard Gordon, showrunner of 24 and the author of Gideon’s War.
Comparisons of the Gideon Davis and Jack Bauer characters come up, Howard shares his writing past, reveals what other writers and stories he was inspired by, they talk about Gregory Itzin (who was recognized by LA Times as one of TV’s top supporting characters in 2010) and Dennis Haysbert, Howard’s favorite episode of 24, his two television pilots, and briefly about the 24 movie.
Time for another roundup of 24 cast member guest appearances. Although there’s no 24 Season 9 this January, we can still see many familiar faces on other shows this month. Get ready to mark your calendars and set your DVR’s! [click to continue…]
Since several people have asked me, here are all six of the deleted scenes found on the 24 Season 8 DVD.
There aren’t any audio commentaries for the deleted scenes this time around, so there’s no way to know why these scenes were cut. Most of them were probably removed for time reasons. [click to continue…]
He played: Tony Almeida, Days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. What he’s doing now: “I’m producing and starring in a pilot with Deran Sarafian (‘House.’) It’s called ‘The Blue Wall’ and is the true story of an ex-police officer who was chosen by New York mayor David Dinkins to go after corrupt cops. It’s a really interesting story. We’ll see what happens. I still get recognized as Tony. People yell out, ‘Hey, Tony!’ That’s good. It means they enjoyed me on ’24.’” Which series he’d watch a marathon of: “‘Dexter.’ I like that show. It has great acting, great writing and really strong directing. That’s one of the few shows that I watch.”
Check out the full interview – with responses from Gregory Itzin, Necar Zadegan, Jon Cassar, and Lou Diamond Phillips, over at TV Squad.
Here’s a video from FOX of the 24 Marathon challenge. Lots of 24 cast members showed up to support the fans including Carlos Bernard, Gregory Itzin, Necar Zadegan, Jon Cassar, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Michael Rodrick.

Best quote: “Listen to me. All of you. I know you’re not in the same room with me but you can see and hear me plainly enough. Take a good look. Do I seem scared? Am I breaking into a nervous sweat? Am I babbling? At a loss for words? Is my voice shaking? Can any one of you look me in the eye and tell me I’m disabled?”

Best quote: “And I tell you something else, Martha. If you blow up like this again I’ll fill you so full of drugs you won’t even remember your own name. And then I will have you shipped off to an asylum where you can spend the rest of your life there if you like. Are we clear?”
Before the new TV season starts I plan to write a post detailing where all the 24 cast and crew have wound up and which projects they are attached to. For now, word comes that Greg Itzin has joined HBO’s Big Love series in a major role:
With casting coups like this, Big Love is well on its way to making up for a lackluster season 4: Legendary (and twice Emmy-nominated) 24 villain Gregory Itzin has signed up for a major recurring gig on season 5 of HBO’s Big Love, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Itzin will play Senator Richard Dwyer, the Republican Majority Leader of the Utah State Senate — of which Bill (Bill Paxton) is now a member.
Production on Big Love‘s fifth season is scheduled to get underway this week.
Itzin will also be guest-starring on USA Network’s Covert Affairs.
24 has received five Emmy nominations for its final season, bringing it’s total nominations to 68 across the entire series run. Unfortunately no nominations were given to Kiefer Sutherland or Annie Wersching (both gave incredible performances), nor was 24 nominated for best drama.
The first couple of minutes are about his new Broadway show “Enron” but the 24 stuff starts at the 3:40 mark. No real spoilers or anything, but it’s always interesting to watch Itzin.
The 16th Scenemakers of 24 Season 8 with actors Gregory Itzin (Charles Logan) and Cherry Jones (Allison Taylor). “Actors Cherry Jones and Gregory Itzin take us behind the scenes of Charles Logan’s return.”
