Behind the Scenes of 24: Live Another Day Episode 5

Director Omar Madha explains how using a drone creates the look of a missile being launched to create a big explosion, along with other special effects that play a role in 24: Live Another Day Episode 5.

Director Omar Madha: “What is exciting for me about the drones is it allows us to send up our own little helicopter, a small-sized helicopter with a camera attached to it, and fly into the house and it looks like a missile which blows up the entire house. So that is before, and then over to my right is after.”

Supervising art director Ben Collins: “For this we’ve got the three elements, there’s the main house where the CIA go find Margot, we’ve then got the visual effects element which is a quarter-scale model which will blow up to get all the visual elements, and then the real element behind us that we can actually shoot actors up against. So I think with all those three elements coming together you get a pretty good package.”

Episode 5 was so amazing. I was wondering exactly how they were able to do that drone attack scene and drone attack aftermath scene in Episode 5. I now know exactly how they did it thanks to this informative and brilliant video. Thanks for posting it here so we could watch it.
