24: Legacy Premiere Date Revealed, Debuts After Super Bowl

The clock ticks again with the next evolution of the Emmy Award-winning “24.” 24: LEGACY debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Feb. 5 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following SUPER BOWL LI, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Feb. 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The series chronicles an adrenaline-fueled race against the clock to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil – in the same real-time format that has propelled this genre-defining series. Starring Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”), Miranda Otto (“Homeland”) and Jimmy Smits (“Sons of Anarchy”), 24: LEGACY reunites the original series’ award-winning producing team of Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer, Manny Coto and Evan Katz; director Stephen Hopkins; and “24” star Kiefer Sutherland, who all serve as executive producers.

This is the best news ever, I can’t wait. However the downside to this news is that the air date (February, 2017) – this is a long way off, I wanted this to air this year.

I can’t wait to see Corey Hawkins as Eric Carter in action and I am dying to see what the new CTU looks like.

No Jack no dice SJG

Really great how they got the spot after the Super Bowl. I’m not too enthusiastic about this series without JB or Chloe or Tony, this does help.

Makes sense. Without Kiefer returning, they need the widest possible audience to see the pilot (which from all reports is excellent). This is their best chance to find a new audience for the show.

So excited that 24 is getting the coveted post Super Bowl time slot. Now that’s you they called it a SUPER BOWL PARTY. With or without Jack Bauer aka Kiefer Sutherland, not sure if the latest reboot is going to be a HIT or MISS.

Re-type: Now that’s WHAT they called it a SUPER BOWL PARTY. My apologies.

Like the way this is shaping up! Huge lead in from the biggest TV event all year w/ a “24” pilot already being widely praised by critics who have viewed it (and really have the Fox heads spinning in glee). Kiefer will be involved as EP, and other producers who led on Season 1. Look for original cast cameos but with the focus on lead characters and an overarching terrorist plot. How this MIGHT tie in w/ Solitary and Jack’s Russian exile remains to be seen. I’m pumped!!

FOX is doing everything to give it a chance at success – short of having Jack back as lead that is. They must really like the pilot to put it after the Super Bowl. If the pilot can hold a captive audience and win back the “Never 24 without Jack” crowd, this could be HUGE.

24 Legacy is moving production to Atlanta for the remainder of season 1:

From the Upfronts….

The trailer got a very positive reception. Advertisers went crazy. One critic said he was sold on Corey Hawkins, but wasn’t sure about the rest of the cast. Another liked Hawkins and Otto together. Sounds like many people are preferring this pilot to the season opener of LAD. Very interesting.

Also, just realized that with the Atlanta filming location, Corey Hawkins might be able to continue his role on The Walking

24 without Jack is not 24, but let’s give this a chance

I am willing to give the new series a chance, despite the unfortunate exit by Keifer. The show will definately be different, though and the trailer looks promising.
