Manny Coto has died at the age of 62 following a 13 month long battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed away while surrounded by his loved ones.

Coto joined 24 for the fifth season which received critical acclaim and won the 2006 Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Drama Series. He continued with the show through the eighth and final season in 2010. Afterwards Coto joined Showtime’s Dexter as an executive producer and won the Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2011.

In 2014, Manny Coto served as co-creator and showrunner on the limited series 24: Live Another Day which received critical acclaim and was nominated for three Emmy awards. In 2017 he co-created 24: Legacy and served as showrunner alongside Evan Katz.

Besides 24, Coto had an illustrious career of contributing to acclaimed television shows like Star Trek: Enterprise, American Horror Story, Tales from the Crypt and more. Our deepest condolences go out to Manny Coto’s family and friends.
