Elisha Cuthbert has a new comedy series on ABC called Happy Endings and it seems like the writers of that show couldn’t resist the urge to throw in a cougar dig. The 24 episode where Kim Bauer gets stuck in an animal trap while a cougar looms over her aired on February 4, 2003 and jokes are still being made about it in 2011. Poor Elisha will never live that down. Watch the funny clip below:
“What if you were like stuck in a trap in the woods, and like a cougar was trying to eat you. Would you date then? Maybe your dad is the head of some elite counter terrorist unit and he only has 24 hours to — I don’t know… The point is, would you date?”

Also, while it’s kind of sad that everyone is making jokes about the cougar scene, it’s also interesting how a short scene like this ended up becoming an internet meme. I guess it was the most random scene ever on 24, which is why a lot of people keep making jokes about it.
Wonder what the original writer of this scene was thinkin, or what the script said.
“This is the scene where Kim encounters a cougar and the two of them stare at each for 15 seconds.”
Probably the same guy who came up with “This is the scene where Kevin Wade and Nick hang out at a strip club” and “This is the scene where Nick shoots at Kevin with a water pistol”

April 22, 2011 at 5:09 pmIt didn’t take long for them to do a 24 joke to Elisha Cuthbert on Happy Endings. The show isn’t really funny though. I wouldn’t be not happy if the show gets renewed, but I don’t think I’ll miss it if it gets cancelled. Too ordinary, not original enough.
